Аннотация

In the digital era, self-directed learning (SDL) has become an essential skill for higher education students.
The integration of educational technology (EdTech) tools offers opportunities for learners to take ownership of their
learning process, set goals, and develop lifelong learning competencies. This paper examines how EdTech tools enhance
university students’ self-directed learning through technological affordances such as interactivity, personalization, and
autonomy. It also highlights pedagogical implications, key challenges, and recommendations for effective implementation
in academic contexts.
