The article examines the psycholinguistic foundations of sociolinguistic competence and its structural
components. It demonstrates that the development of this competence is closely linked with cognitive functions such
as attention, working memory, and social cognition. The main elements of sociolinguistic competence—cultural-social
knowledge, communicative and psychological adaptation, and analysis of language context—are analyzed
