This article scientifically analyzes the neuroprotective properties of the anesthetics propofol and sevoflurane,
their effect on brain activity, especially cognitive processes. Cognitive dysfunction is a syndrome that occurs during
anesthesia and postoperative periods, characterized by impaired memory, attention, and cognitive function. The article
highlights the role of these two drugs in protecting neuronal metabolism, reducing oxidative stress, and controlling
inflammatory mediators. The results of the study show that propofol and sevoflurane, when used in combination or as
monotherapy, help protect brain tissue from hypoxic damage
