Challenges and Limitations of Using AI in Language Teaching

This article examines the limitations and challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence in language
teaching. While artificial intelligence technologies offer significant benefits, such as personalized learning, automated
feedback, and increased accessibility, their implementation also raises serious pedagogical, technological, and ethical
concerns. The study highlights issues including the lack of human interaction, limited cultural and pragmatic understanding
of language, data privacy risks, technological inaccuracies, and unequal access to AI-based tools. Furthermore,
the paper emphasizes the importance of teacher involvement and critical evaluation of AI systems in educational contexts.
The findings suggest that artificial intelligence should be used as a complementary tool rather than a replacement
for human educators in order to ensure effective and inclusive language teaching.
