This study aims to explore the relationship between writing skills and personality traits, with a particular focus
on conscientiousness and its association with writing development. The research examines Grade 7 secondary school
EFL learners and investigates how levels of conscientiousness relate to their writing performance. The study assesses
students’ written work using a structured scoring rubric and analyzes the data with reference to both the level of conscientiousness
and the development of writing skills. The scientific novelty of this research lies in its focus on the relationship
between conscientiousness and writing skills among secondary school EFL learners, a context that has received limited
attention in previous studies.
