This article discusses the pedagogical foundations for developing competencies in organizing practical classes
in Zoology among pre-service biology teachers. In the process of teaching Zoology, practical classes play a significant
role in strengthening students’ theoretical knowledge, developing observation, analytical and experimental skills, and
fostering research competencies. The study analyzes the pedagogical conditions, methods, and effective technologies
for improving the practical training of future biology teachers based on a competency-based approach.
