The article analyzes the role of innovative technologies in teaching English and the ways of developing students’
linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic, and strategic competences within the framework of the communicative approach
through the use of technology. It also examines the methodological support for applying innovative technologies based
on the development of independent learning. Furthermore, the article discusses the effective use of modern technologies
in learning and teaching English, the teacher’s continuous self-improvement, sense of responsibility, introduction of innovations
into lessons, and ensuring that classes are engaging and dynamic.
