The Role of Art in Developing Creativity in Preschool Children

Creativity is a crucial component of early childhood development, shaping children’s ability to think divergently,
solve problems, and express themselves. This article investigates the role of art in fostering creativity among preschool
children. Through a combination of literature review, observational studies, and educational interventions, the research
explores how various art activities–such as drawing, painting, music, and dramatic play–stimulate imaginative thinking
and creative expression in young learners. The study finds that structured and unstructured art experiences significantly
contribute to the cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of creativity in preschool-aged children. Recommendations for
integrating art into early childhood curricula are proposed to maximize developmental benefits
